What a glorious day January 1st was.  The weather was perfect, with the sun giving lots of heat as we all sat around munching on pizza and salads.  The Black Forest Soda cake went over well, as there was only one spoonful left.  We visited until 5:00 pm.  Later in the evening we finished off our pizza and then watched Broken Trail with Robert Duvall and Thomas Haden Church which Glen had lent us.  It was quite good.  Didn't retire until 10:45 pm.  Two late nights for the Desert Rats make for cranky rats in the morning.

January 2 was chilly in the morning but that didn't stop seven of us getting up and heading out to  Rainbow Acres (about 10 minutes from Quatzsite) to their yard sales.  We then all went to La Casa del Rancho for breakfast.  Gordon wanted everyone to see the Domani 5th Wheel which he liked, so we then headed to LaMesa RV Sales and did a tour of the Domani and then several other 5th wheels and trailers.  Met Tom & Lucille and her sister & Brother-in-law.  They had come for the free lunch but it had been postponed until Monday.  LaMesa is supposed to have free breakfasts as well....anything to get people in to look at the RV's and maybe see something they just can't leave without.

Holiday RV Sales has a motorhome with 6 slides.  Yes, six!  We all stopped there on our way home and spent some time in that motorhome and then viewsed several more.  Maggie wants a Road Trek and they had four for viewing.  I shuddered when I walked into them.  There is far too much stuff crammed in such a small space, but for a single person with a small dog maybe it is enough.

Returned home around 1:30 pm and spent the remainder of the afternoon reading, sleeping or generally resting.  Just sitting in the sun was wonderful.  Gord made a shrimp & chicken stir-fry for supper and then we went to JR's RV Park for a jam.  We haven't been to a jam for quite some time as we have had a fire lots of nights.

It is now 6:05 am on January 3rd.  The temperature is +11C.  Wishing you all a great day from the Arizona desert.
