Wednesday, March 4 - We woke up to our neighbor, Ed, guiding the ambulance from the gate to his RV. Norma, his wife, has COPD and has been in the hospital four times since November. She just got home Monday from her previous stay. Someone spread the word that she had had a heart attack, but by evening when Ed returned it was not a heart attack but only that she had not been able to get enough oxygen and her heart was enlarged. She will be okay. The highlight of today was our attendance at a "Hobo Stew" dinner at Gloria and Glen's. All the guests were asked to bring a can of something that could be added to the stew pot. Sounded iffy at best but it was really delicious. We have learned some interesting things while on the desert - the pie iron cooking, the breakfast in a bag and now the Hobo Stew.
Thursday, March 5 It was only +8C at 7:00 am this morning with clear skies and calm winds. April, Glen, Chuck, Gordon & Jeanne went for one last ride before we all start heading home. Here are some pictures of the terrain we rode thru today . . .I am having trouble uploading pictures this evening. I will try again tomorrow to get the rest. While we were out riding a whirlwind touched down in our area and wrecked the awning on Ed's RV. Just what he needed. We were all lucky as our awnings were down but nothing was hurt. We got home from our ride about 5:00 pm, drove to three areas looking for a great site for next year, then went to Chuck's for 'Happy Hour'. After a supper of wraps we had a fire (in the fire pit). There is so few of us left here now that the group was very small. This will probably be the last fire we have.
